Music Industry School : BOOTCAMP Free Training
I decided that I wanted to put together a series of videos that would help newcomers and veterans determine their career path for the next few years. Why? Things have changed, and if you think they haven’t – you’re just inviting yourself to a speed race with failure. It does not make any sense in any way to continue to do things that are proven to fail and have a high likely hood of failing. Like the presidential Candidates… we all know Hilary is going to win right? So why do the other Candidates continue to believe they have a chance….YIKES!
It’s 2008 – the Music Industry (or what’s left of it) is about to get itself into high gear. Artists are going to the studio, collaborations begin, writers are scurrying, everyone is on their tippy toes trying to work against the clock of the industry. It’s not an option, not a choice, but an expectation.
You MUST know what you’re dealing with and how you’re going to deal with it if you plan to continue to survive in this business. No it does not matter whether you are signed or unsigned, and no it does not matter whether you plan on selling 10,000 records independently or 100,000 globally – the rules will be defined and they will be adhered to; whether you like it or not. So here they are:
Rule #1 – Don’t get lazy
Rule #2 – Don’t think that this isn’t a competition
Rule #3 – Be Patient
Rule #4 – Do Your Research
Rule #5 – Don’t Record Crap
Rule #6 – Get Valued Opinions (to make sure you don’t publish crap)
Rule # 7 – Be Visible
Rule# 8 – Develop and Maintain New Contacts on a monthly basis
Rule #9 – Find More Time
Rule #10 – Have Fun
I need to stress that you should have fun, but if you’re here – you’re here because you’re desperate for success; you know that it’s either you or him. You know that only 1 person is going to get signed out of 1,000. So if you know that you have to be 1 out of 1,000 who happens to get a chance to showcase for a label this month, then you better be sure you have DAMN GOOD MUSIC.
If you are one of the musicians/artists who just wants to do this because you enjoy it; that’s great and you are welcome to join the boot camp series – it will only make you stronger and help you to have more fun when you do what you do.
The REAL truth is that success comes in two flavors: public & personal.
Public success is how the public measures your accomplishments in addition to how you measure your accomplishments based on the publics opinion.
Personal success is how you measure your success according to the goals, obstacles, successes, and failures that you’ve endured along your journey towards a goal or outcome. Personal success does not care much about what the publics opinion, but demands that the public can respect this [type] of success.
This boot camp will be designed for the artists who want to get better, be superstars, take the gold, get the Grammy, make the contacts, make the grade, get the fans, get everything that’s included. But anyone can benefit from it.
It’s free. There will be no holding of the tongue here, so if you have a soft heart or don’t like to discuss hard facts and hard evidence, this boot camp may not be for you. We will discuss the basics all the way to the advanced, and it’s entirely 100% video based.
No e-book this time. This is the real deal here folks. If you’re ready – strap in and let’s go.
P.S. I guarantee you’ll learn more in this Music Industry Boot camp than you will at most music conferences. 10 Super Hardcore Mind-Boggling Psychologically Challenging Video courses designed to help you make your move. In or Out.
